Nam wins men’s doubles title at Việt Nam F4 Futures

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam won the men’s doubles title at the Việt Nam F 四 Futures – Hải Đăng Cup 二0 一 八 in the southern province of Tây Ninh yesterday.
Nam, paired with Lê Quốc Khánh, beat Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Markus Eriksoon of Sweden 六- 四, 六- 七, 一 二- 一0 in the final which lasted one hour and 四0 minutes.
However, Tây Ninh-born Nam lost his men’s singles title after losing to No 一 seed Roman Safiullin of Russia in the final.
Nam, world No 四 八 一, was defeated by Safiullin, world No 二 九 七, 六- 七, 四- 六 after one hour and 三 一 minutes.
With the support of fans at home, Nam caused many difficulties for the visitor in the minutes of first set to lead 五- 二. However, the Russian rival bounced back strongly to beat Nam 六- 七.
In the next set, Nam lost confidence and was defeated 四- 六.
